Day 1: Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your journey starts with a beautiful drive from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, crossing the Rwanda-Uganda border at Katuna.

The trip highlights Rwanda’s rolling hills and Uganda’s green countryside, with a short stop in Kabale town for snacks.

When you reach your lodge near Bwindi, you will check in and have lunch.

In the afternoon, you can choose to take a cultural walk to meet the Batwa Pygmies and learn about their traditions in the forest. After dinner, you’ll get a briefing about the gorilla trekking adventure planned for the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a trekking briefing.

You will start your gorilla trek, walking through thick forest to locate a habituated gorilla family.

You will have one amazing hour watching these magnificent animals before heading back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda, and check in at a lodge by the lake.

Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi Exploration and Return to Kigali

You will wake up to peaceful views of the lake and have breakfast.

You will take a calming boat cruise, stopping at islands such as Punishment Island.

After checking out, you will drive back to Kigali, crossing the border between Uganda and Rwanda.

If there is time, you can visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial or Kimironko Market before being dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
